Protective separation for swimming pool lighting.

We recommend the use of isolating transformers when using swimming pool lighting with switch-mode or electronic power supplies.

The norm EN 60598-2-18 contains specific requirements for lighting solutions for pools. For example all used transformers or power supplies must pass a high voltage test of 4000 volt.

A large number of switch-mode power supplies for LED lamps do not fulfill this test criterion. The required safety can nevertheless be ensured with the aid of an isolating transformer of our EVGT series.
